Make Waves and #doDifferent
It’s a well-known fact that our oceans cover about 70% of the earth’s surface and that 97% of the earth’s water comes from them. This makes our oceans the most important natural resource we have. All more reason to come together and protect them.
Wildtrust and Mr Price Sport have partnered up to #doDifferent with a campaign to assist enhance efforts to conserve the seas by developing a range that supports a worthwhile cause, as part of their WILDOCEANS initiative.
Marine preservation has recently risen to the top of the global priority list, with experts stating that 30% ocean protection by 2030 is required for the ocean to survive. South Africa had just 0.4% of its national waters protected in 2018, but today it has 5% of its ocean space protected through Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). WILDOCEANS has played a big role in making that happen. Mr Price Sport approached WILDOCEANS in 2019 to collaborate on a swimwear line that would highlight how magnificent our oceans truly are while generating funds for the program. Some of the items are made from recycled materials.
With every purchase of the clothing line, Mr Price Sport will contribute 10% of the proceeds to the efforts of this marine conservation initiative, ensuring that your purchase will help rescue the ocean in the long run. The funds raised through the sale of the WILDOCEANS and Mr Price Sport collaboration will be used to fund future research, as well as youth education and capacity building, and the finding of new species beneath the vast blue blanket.
