The magic of mushrooms and #doDifferent

We love it when South African businesses #doDifferent so today we would like to give a shout out to Denny Mushrooms for the work they have been doing on the Add Goodness campaign through the Winter.

Denny invited all South Africans to join them in spreading the goodness and helping vulnerable South Africans through the double whammy of Winter and the pandemic.

The Add Goodness campaign was multifaceted and involved a blanket drive, mushroom donations, the Add Goodness donation drive and Onesie giveaway and what they referred to as Souper Stuff (a cool creative way of saying support to soup kitchens).

Let's look at each element:

BLANKET DRIVE

Denny Mushrooms asked South Africans to join them and get their knit-on! Blankets were made and were donated to shelters across South Africa.

MUSHROOM DONATIONS

Since the beginning of lockdown, Denny contributed tonnes and tonnes of mushrooms to shelters and soup kitchens around the country.

ADD GOODNESS WINTER DONATION DRIVE AND ONESIE GIVEAWAY

Denny partnered with The Good Things Guy, Brent Lindeque, and a number of influential bloggers across the country to spread the word about the initiative. They asked all South Africans to share the warmth through winter by making a donation at dennyaddgoodness.co.za. All money raised went to FOOD FORWARD SA to create more food and warmth for those less fortunate. For every R10 donated participants were entered into a random draw for a small reward a limited-edition onesie - and a Denny hamper.

SOUPER STUFF

Denny partnered up with various soup kitchens and volunteered to help hand out the soup to those in need.

We love campaigns that afford ordinary South Africans the opportunity to #doDifferent in partnership with companies that want to make an impact.

Have you heard of a company or campaign that wants to #doDifferent? We are always looking for more #doDifferent stories so please let us know.

Please note: The Denny Add Goodness campaign has been concluded.
