Get Your Caffeine Fix and #doDifferent

Coffee means a great deal to many of us. Whether it is that first ‘wake-me-up’ cup in the morning or the satisfying after-dinner espresso, coffee is utilitarian yet comforting and rewarding. What if each cup of coffee could also contribute to a greater purpose? What if we could #doDifferent and have our coffee choice change lives?

One Cup Coffee is a Cape Town-based coffee company offering a simple solution to your everyday coffee needs. They sell a single product, a medium roast of 100% arabica coffee, blended to meet the needs of most coffee styles.

The beans are ethically sourced from smallholder farms in Tanzania and Kenya, with full traceability to the region and farms. They work with suppliers who ensure that all the beans they purchase have a positive economic and environmental impact for the farmers and communities at the source.

Ethically sourced beans are common among modern roasteries and coffee brands, so One Cup Coffee have chosen to go further in their good business journey. For every 1kg of coffee purchase money is donated to feed a child at school for a 10-day period. This is facilitated by the Peninsula School Feeding Association (PSFA) who provide a nutritious breakfast and lunch to pupils at school. Not only does the contribute to hunger alleviation, but it improves learning outcomes with an incentive to attend school and the all-important nutrition required for optimal learning. With 165 schools supported across the Western Cape, the PSFA feeds over 25 000 children each day.

In keeping with the ethos of traceability, the donation is made in the name of the customer and proof of payment shared. Regular customers also receive a monthly statement of the number of meals their purchases have paid for.

One Cup Coffee is available online either direct from the company, with delivery in Cape Town and surrounds, or through Faithful to Nature who delivers nationwide. It is also available through selected Spar, OK Mini Mart, and independent stores around Cape Town.

So, why not #doDifferent and switch your coffee supply to one which you can enjoy knowing that your choice provided food to a schoolchild, fighting hunger and assisting learning.
