#doDifferent with A Million Meals

South Africa is a nation with a wealth of beauty and opportunity, but it also faces significant challenges, including poverty and hunger. For many children, especially during the holiday season, a nutritious meal can be scarce.

Fortunately, organisations like Outside the Bowl Africa (OTBA) are stepping up to make a difference. OTBA is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing nutritional meals to children in Africa. This year, they’ve launched their Million Meals Campaign, a powerful initiative that aims to provide one million meals to vulnerable children across South Africa.

The Million Meals Campaign is a partnership between OTBA, the Feed the Nation Foundation, and Pick n Pay. Through this collaboration, they hope to raise awareness about childhood hunger in South Africa and distribute much-needed meals to those who need them most.

The campaign will provide vital support to Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres, which play a critical role in the lives of young children. By providing these centres with VitaKidz Cookie Buckets, OTBA is ensuring that children receive the essential nutrients they need to thrive.

There are many ways you can get involved in the Million Meals Campaign and make a positive impact on a child’s life. Here are a few options:

  • Donate: Even a small donation can make a big difference. A contribution of R150 can provide meals for 20 children.

  • Spread the Word: Raise awareness about the campaign by sharing it on social media and talking to your friends and family.

  • Volunteer your Time: If you have some extra time, consider volunteering at a local ECD centre or food bank.

Outside the Bowl Africa’s Million Meals Campaign is a powerful example of how communities can come together to address a critical issue. By working together, we can ensure that no child goes hungry this holiday season.
