#doDifferent and Bake a Difference
September is childhood cancer awareness month in South Africa. Although childhood cancer is relatively rare, it is on the increase. With early detection and treatment, the survival rate can be as high as 80% which is why early detection is so critical.
One company is choosing to #doDifferent and do its bit to assist in combating childhood cancer.

Mugg & Bean are back at it again. As one of South Africa’s favourite spots with over 200 locations around the country serving a wide range of meals and every coffee-based drink you can imagine. They are, however, most famous for their giant muffins. Available in a variety of sweet and savoury options, these muffins are the perfect accompaniment to coffee and can be anything from a shared snack to a full meal. These muffins are also the vehicle for a wonderful initiative by Mugg & Bean.
For the whole of September, R2 from every purchase of a muffin from any Mugg & Bean location will be donated to Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer (a part of the Cupcakes of Hope organisation). These organisations provide direct support to those fighting cancer as well as raise awareness to help turn the tide in the fight against this disease. They help to assist patients with their medical bills and day-to-day needs, as well as distributing educational materials and driving grassroots awareness campaigns.
The money raised from this campaign will go a long way to help children successfully win their battles with cancer and give them a chance to realize their dreams and fulfil their potential. In 2022, they raised over R2.8 million for children with cancer - which is superb!
So, why not indulge a little this September and buy yourself one, or many, giant Mugg & Bean muffins. Your purchase will help to give hope and strength to a child fighting cancer. The choice to #doDifferent has never been this delicious.
