Founded in 2014, GirlCode began as a simple but ambitious idea: a women-only hackathon. The goal was to address the inequality and unemployment crisis by providing a safe, empowering space for women to test their skills. What started as a weekend event has since evolved into a nationwide educational institution that has impacted over 4,900 girls and women.
GirlCode isn’t just teaching people how to build websites; they are cultivating a generation of problem-solvers. Their approach is holistic, moving from basic digital literacy to high-level career placement.
